Step 1: Set you classes up in Google Classroom.

Securly connects to your Google Classroom to bring classes your classes in. The students need to be enrolled in your Google Classrooms in order for you to observe them. If they leave your Google Classroom, they will leave your Securly Classroom.

If you need help creating Google Classrooms, see the links below.

Step 2: Learn how to use Securly Classroom.

Visit THIS LINK to Learn how to get started. This page includes video tutorials, a cheat sheet, user guides, and tips on how to troubleshoot issues within Securly Classroom.

Step 3. Get signed in to the Classroom Manager Console.

Go to https://deviceconsole.securly.com/ or use the shortcut in your RISD Bookmarks...

Sign in with Google

After logging in you should see your classes. Your Securly Classrooms are being imported from Google Classroom. If they look out of date, please head over to Google Classroom and update your classes. After making changes, you should see the Securly Classes update pretty quick after refreshing your browser.

4: Helpful tips:

  1. Again, watch the YouTube playlist.
  2. Be careful when creating class schedules. Please understand that if we have a day where schedules are off, you might have kids that are currently with another teacher.
  3. Kids need a minimum of two tabs in order to launch apps. Check your options before scheduling and starting a class to be sure that you are allowing at least two tabs to be opened by students.
